Distance: 50 Km.
From Casale Fedele one can easily reach Cesano station and reach the Vatican City by a cheap train. Cost of train is only one euro!
Or drive to Saxa Rubra, at 40 minutes from the Casale Fedele, take the first train and in 10 minutes go down to Piazza del Popolo for the most popular shopping street in Rome, Via del Corso. If you're not done shopping after visiting this street, go to Piazza di Spagna, which apart from the famous Spanish Steps offers a wide range of elegant designer stores.
Then at lunch time take the metro to St Peter's Square which is without a doubt the most famous square in Rome, and maybe in all of Italy. Every day, thousands of tourists and pilgrims from all around the world pass through the square (which following the design of Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini is actually round) on their way to St Peter's Basilica.
Piazza Venezia surrounded by busy streets on all four sides, it features Altare della Patria, a monument dedicated to King Vittorio Emanuele and the landmark Palazzo Venezia.
Famous monuments in Rome are also famous European monuments as most of them are the oldest monuments on the continent, so they're particularly worth your visit.
A day at Circus Maximus for instance dates back to 600 BC and even though little of the original structure remains, it's still one of the most popular attractions of the Eternal City.
Another oft visited monument is the Trevi Fountain, but what's interesting to know is that it's just one of over 60 fountains scattered throughout Rome.
Add visit for the Arch of ConstantineColosseum and Roman Forum to your list of monuments to see and start exploring Rome!
